You can visit the near by "Torre de la Sal Rossa”. The tower is a 2 storey fort which was built in the XVI century.  It served as protection for the salt flat workers whose dock used to be located below it.  To the right of the fort is the "La Xanga" cove: a typical Ibizan cove with various fishermen's huts.    From the fort you can enjoy panoramic views of the whole Playa d’en Bossa and Formentera.   Here you are already in the nature reserve of the Natural Park “de las Salinas” one of the most amazing places of the Balearic Islands.

Parque Natural de Ses Salines from Ibiza.travel.

The Natural Park “de ses Salines” of Ibiza and Formentera is a great example of the richness and diversity of the flora and fauna in the Mediterranean area. It is a place of tranquility and provides nesting grounds for various species of birds on their migrations. This natural park is particularly interesting and includes habitats on land as well as in water. Therefore it is of great ecological, scenic, historic and cultural significance. On the 4th of December 1999, it was declared as World Heritage site by the UNESCO, which puts the whole park under special protection because of its huge ecological value.
